1. What is TOKIE Solutions?


It is an all-encompassing solution ecosystem proudly developed in-house and manufactured within our own factory premises. TOKIE Solutions comprises the following major components: (i) TOKIE family of PTT hardware devices (ii) TOKIE App (iii) TOKIE BOXX Dispatch (iv) TOKIE Enterprise.

2. Are Solutions customisable?

Yes, this is the key reason why service providers choose to partner with us. As we carry out our own research, development and manufacturing, we are able to customize our offerings at the source code and ROM level, including customizing hardware designs for some key clients.

3. Is TOKIE a SaaS (“Software-as-a-Service”) offering?


Yes, TOKIE Enterprise Server is hosted in the cloud and allows organisations to access the full TOKIE functionality at lower costs than in-house installation; however, to meet special customer requirements, TOKIE also offers an OnPremise Enterprise server option.

4. Does TOKIE devices work globally in any country and across any geographical distances?

TOKIE works on either cellular data or WiFi, including GPRS, EDGE, 3G/UMTS and 4GLTE, are SIM unlocked and designed for compatibility with any telco network. This makes TOKIE devices truly global, telco-agnostic and distance-agnostic.

5. What happens if users are outside of cellular and WiFi networks?

The PTT functionalities will not be available without cellular and WiFi coverage. However, the TOKIE device can be used as a normal phone if the phone is registered with a GSM SIM card and a GSM 2G signal exist.

6. Why are IP-based solutions superior to traditional walkie talkies?

Traditional two way radio will always be limited by distance and interference. In contrast, TOKIE 4G LTE Push-to-Talk devices are loud, clear and interference-free. More importantly, it does not require any investment in expensive radio infra-structures, like repeaters, towers, antennas or leasing sites.

7. What are the Lone Worker Protection (LWP) features?

In case of emergencies, pressing the orange SOS button sends an alarm to users on the network, showing the location of the caller who pressed the SOS button so that he/she will immediately get noticed.

8. Can users bring their own devices to enjoy TOKIE solution features?

The full range of TOKIE services is optimized or use on TOKIE-branded devices only. TOKIE devices are designed for very low-total-cost-of-ownership, hence would represent the best hardware choice from a price and feature perspective.

9. Can users download personal apps via Google Playstore?

TOKIE allows authorised administrators to determine usage policies.

10. Can user locations be tracked?

Yes, all TOKIE devices are equipped with GPS Location, Tracking and Zones to enable dispatchers to view user’s real-time position, track user past movement and monitor users in the zones.

11. Is TOKIE compatible with traditional PMR system?

Yes. These projects are handled on a case-by-case basis.

12. Can TOKIE users make private and groups calls?

Yes, users can make both type of calls and also send private messages to other users. Communications can take place at the same time, among the different groups, regardless of the number of groups set up.

13. Can video recordings be transmitted live?

Yes, live transmission is possible and a copy of the recording is also saved on the device’s memory or external TF card, depending on the chosen setting. The video footage can also be viewed from any terminals or from the Dispatch console.

14. What is the pricing model?

While we have standard guidelines for software subscription fees, recommended hardware retail prices and warranty terms, we realized that the best partnership models are always based on having a win-win mindset. Since TOKIE Solutions are optimized for Enterprise users and no two markets are 100% alike, we have developed very flexible pricing models over the years to suit the situation at-hand.
